Disadvantages about HEPA filter air purifiers:

The idea behind HEPA filters is to have multiple layers of tubular fibers arranged in various directions, which are designed to trap air contaminants like pollen, dust, pet dander, and other fine particles.

In order for filters or purifiers to be considered HEPA-quality, they need to trap 99.97% of particles that are 0.3 μm in size.
Obviously, that is quite small, and at this size dust and pollen are removed, as well as some other household allergens that would present respiratory issues. However, HEPA-grade purification doesn’t trap contaminants smaller than 0.3μ in size so there is still a shortcoming with this technology.

How Does Airdog 5-Stage TPA Filtration Works?

As we have seen, Airdog uses a revolutionary filtration system, based on Ionic Wind and TPA technology.

5-stage filtration system:

Pre-filter: Collects larger particles that would otherwise overwhelm the sophisticated Ionic Field filter. Example: Hair, pet
dandler, even larger pollen.
Emitter Wires / Generating Plate: For TPA tech to work, the incoming air pollutants need to be charged. Wire Frame is basically a strong electric field that charges small particles of dust, smoke, mold, bact-eria, vir-uses, and turns them into ions.

You should not put the whole Airdog X5 unit into the dishwasher! Only the collecting plates part is OK to be washed by a full wash cycle. Please make sure the collecting plates unit is fully dried before putting it back into your Airdog X5.  always make sure to take the time to fully dry them.

Q1: What is the Airdog X5?

Q2: What is ionic wind filtration?

The ionic wind is wind-generated by ions flowing under an electrical field. It’s an amazing technology that’s been recognized by Scientific American and the MIT technology review. Ionic wind filtration has two parts. First is the dust charging and collection stage. Air enters a chamber in the air purifier and gets charged. The charged ions/dust in the air then move under an electrical field, and there is an avalanching effect where more and more ions/dust are charged and moved under the field. Finally, they hit the electrically charged collecting plates, where the dust gets collected, and the ions are neutralized. The now clean air keeps its momentum and then exits the chamber.
